Using fMRI, I’m looking for the evidence that the brain encodes error representations in line with the prediction error theory.
The brain responds to adjectives whose grammatical gender mismatches that of contextually probable nouns, a phenomenon viewed as key evidence of predictive sentence comprehension. In a series of EEG/ERP experiments, I explore whether this effect is truly predictive and whether it entails updating noun predictions.
In this series of experiments I focus on understanding how the brain accesses the meaning of words.
